LA bottega.

MENUDER GIUSSANO is an artisan custom-made and hand-made shoe shop.

The artisan tradition of MENUDER was born at the end of the 18th century thanks to Giuseppe Barzaghi, shoemaker and co-owner of a shoe shop in a famous Milan street, Via Magenta. Giuseppe, who deep down was an artist and very passionate about music too, decided to leave the big city and continue production of custom-made shoes in his beloved province of Brianza, in a little town of Giussano.

It was here where in a typical Brianza courtyard, thanks to his son Angelo Barzaghi, Menuder shop was given to light. It was also where our art for creation and production of shoes was born. Angelo is also godfather to the name of the shop – Menuder, which in Brianza dialect means minute and short as he was called by his shop neighbors.

Angelo Barzaghi started this shoes business after the war and until he was 80 he had always worked with incredible passion and meticulousness.

The passion was passed on to him by his father and he passed it on to his sons Alberto and Gianfranco and to his grandson Emanuele, who are the ones that continue this artisan tradition up to date.

There are four generations that, in a shop full of glue, leather, nails and strings, sit together around a small table, make shoes completely by hand and custom-made. Shoes that perfectly adjust to the client's foot and are personalized in color and finish.
